ALA Conference 2026 (15th edition) is an event organized by the Serious Games Society in collaboration with the University of L’Aquila. This community represents a significant blend of industrial and academic professionals committed to the study, development, and deployment of serious games as useful and effective tools to support better teaching, learning, training, and assessment. Games and Learning Alliance Conference (GALA Conf)GALA Conf is an yearly conference, aimed at providing an international forum for the dissemination and exchange of scientific information on theoretical, technical, and applied areas of serious games. These objectives are accomplished through different means: presentation sessions, keynote speeches, a poster session, an exhibition, and a game competition. GALA Conf proceedings are regularly published on Springer Lecture Notes on Computer Science (LNCS), indexed by Scopus.GALA Conf is organized every year by the SGS in collaboration with a local scientific team. GALA Conf features a well established Program Committee, involving leading-edge academic and industrial researchers and practitioners.
GALA Conf CompetitionEvery year, the GALA conf hosts an international competition that aims to celebrate the best digital games for learning. Serious Games can be submitted in several categories: Academic, Business and Student. The awards are based on an analysis of the games by a panel of Serious Games experts. Each year, a special theme can be given but the Serious Games do not need to be in this theme.
